About me

Hi!馃憢 I am Ao Wang, a FinTech Ph.D. student at HKUST(GZ) and an alumnus of Tongji University. I received my B.Eng. and M.S. degrees from Tongji University, and I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in FinTech at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou).

My earlier work, especially from 2019 to 2024, focused on blockchain systems and Web3 infrastructure. Since 2024, my focus has shifted toward AI and agent systems. Across both phases, I care about turning research questions into rigorous papers, and useful technical ideas into products and infrastructure.

On the entrepreneurship side, I have held core roles across multiple venture-backed startups, with aggregate financing exceeding RMB 100,000,000+. I have repeatedly taken products from 0 to 1, especially in AI-native products, agent platforms, and full-stack product systems.

Recently, I have also spent time building OpenNomos iconOpenNomos and PaperList.ai iconPaperList.ai. My broader work spans AI agent systems, agentic RAG, AI-native research workflows, Web3 infrastructure, and production-grade full-stack engineering.

Research Interests

  • AI-assisted Finance. AI agents for financial research, decentralized trading, market monitoring, decision support, and workflow automation in FinTech systems.
  • LLM Agents and Agentic RAG. Tool-calling, structured-output workflows, multi-turn search, memory-augmented reasoning, and reliability loops for production AI systems.
  • Urban Mobility Intelligence. Personalized route planning, trajectory understanding, passenger complaint mining, and city-scale transportation knowledge modeling.
  • Agent Systems & Evaluation Harnesses. Agent runtime architecture, tool-use orchestration, task planning, evaluation harnesses, trace/replay systems, monitoring, and reliability testing for production AI agents.
